These states stand out in high state sales taxes:  California, Rhode Island and New Jersey

These states stand out in high cigarette taxes:  New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut

These states stand out in high gas taxes:   California, Pennsylvania, Washington

 

NOTE: in the Tax Freedom Day who are the top 8 in having the longest time before one is working for him/herself?  – Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Illinois, Maryland.Connecticut and New Jersey are way out there all by themselves as the heaviest taxing states.

The majority of these states are Left Wing Liberal bastions governed by Democrats. They are the states with the highest cost of living, lowest wages, highest taxes and the least amount of economic growth.
