Weak Republican Leadership is to Blame for Trump’s Success

Donald Trump’s bluntness would not be so successful if the Republican leadership were good at their jobs. Bill Whittle explains.

As a matter of fact we have not had two Republican leaders in Congress that are so ineffective and non Republican as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

Republicans were elected to Congress by voters to repeal Obamacare. Have they done it? They were elected to close the Southern border. Have they done It? They were elected to stop runaway government spending. Have they done it? They were elected to stop Obama’s Iran Nuclear deal. Have they done it? They can’t even defund Planned Parenthood from the government trough.

The reason Trump resonates with Republican voters is that they know when he says he will do something he is not just blowing hot air. After mamby pamby, milquetoast McCain and Romney, along with do nothing traitors Boehner and McConnell,  Republican voters want a fighter.  And what they don’t want are RINOs. While Trump gathers all the headlines as one who throws a lot of punches, both Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina are equal fighters who are doing less well in the polls.

Although the Lexington Libertarian is not a Trump hater, we think here that the American people would do a lot better with Ted Cruz as President and Carly Fiorina as Vice President.  We are not sure that Trump is a true Conservative but rather a Populist. Compare him with Ross Perot. Nor do we rule out Marco Rubio as a great Commander-in-Chief. Just our two cents.
