Biased Media Will Not Report Certain Stories

The power to omit news, to not report it shows as much bias as reporting Fake News.

Bruce Johns writing for the American Thinker tells us:

“The media is no longer informative, it is conformative. It is not interested in broadcasting events unless it can also script them. It does not want to know what you think, it wants to tell you what to think.” writes Daniel Greenfield.

Prioritization of news is one tactic where incidents of page one importance are shuffled off to the back sections. However, editorializing via omission is their great tool. It can go unnoticed when artfully implemented. When it is blatant, it is fatal. People who want to know will cease sourcing publications that omit stories and misrepresent or withhold facts. In this one respect, the world has grown smarter. The real world has caught up to them.

The Christian Post reports:

Evidence continues to mount that the world’s most powerful search engine is deliberately manipulating search results they deem objectionable by providing sketchy fact-check reviews of conservative websites while leaving liberal sites untouched.

The Daily Caller reported earlier this week that Google is now displaying fact checks for conservative websites in its search results. When an Internet user looks up certain news sites that skew to the right, Google offers additional information about the site on a sidebar, such as what themes the site often write about, and a “Reviewed Claims” section.

These reviewed claims are instances where the publication has made a claim thought to be dubious and is linked to Snopes or another fact-checker report on the matter.

And some of the claims for which Google is providing reviews give the impression that the site in question habitually engages in spreading unsubstantiated rumors as factual.

Your News Wire reported:

According to Amber Lyon, a three-time Emmy award winning journalist, CNN is routinely paid by the US government and foreign governments to selectively report on certain events and make up fake news stories.

Furthermore, the Obama administration pay CNN for editorial control over some of their content.

Breitbart reported:

Anonymous sources at Facebook’s news team have confirmed to Gizmodo that, in addition to suppressing conservative news sources, the company suppresses stories about itself while artificially promoting stories about the Black Lives Matter movement.

This is the latest in the story of Facebook’s politically biased “trending” section, which we initially reported on last week. The anonymous source told Gizmodo that stories from conservative news sources like Breitbart were regularly suppressed by the company.

New details emerged today, with the anonymous employee revealing to Gizmodo that stories about Mitt Romney, Rand Paul, CPAC, and other conservative topics were prevented from reaching Facebook’s “trending” category. Furthermore, stories about progressive movements like Black Lives Matter were artificially promoted by the company.

According to Gizmodo, the source kept a list of stories that were “deep sixed,” or prevented from trending on Facebook. They include a laundry list of topics of interest to conservatives.

Breitbart reported on Twitter:

Rumours that Twitter has begun ‘shadowbanning’ politically inconvenient users have been confirmed by a source inside the company, who spoke exclusively to Breitbart Tech. His claim was corroborated by a senior editor at a major publisher.

According to the source, Twitter maintains a ‘whitelist’ of favoured Twitter accounts and a ‘blacklist’ of unfavoured accounts. Accounts on the whitelist are prioritised in search results, even if they’re not the most popular among users. Meanwhile, accounts on the blacklist have their posts hidden from both search results and other users’ timelines.

Our source was backed up by a senior editor at a major digital publisher, who told Breitbart that Twitter told him it deliberately whitelists and blacklists users. He added that he was afraid of the site’s power, noting that his tweets could disappear from users’ timelines if he got on the wrong side of the company.
