Here is exactly why many Republicans do not want to do comprehensive immigration reform with Obama. We have been told by the Obama Administration that our border is more secure than it has ever been. THEY LIE.

Obama refuses to close the border, to close it before an immigration bill is written. He has let it be known to enforcement that we are no longer deporting illegal immigrants. He has sent out such a “soft message” that it has reverberated through South America and the floodgate is now open and we are unable to take care of the masses crossing our border. The President is pushing non enforcement and we are paying the price. AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT OBAMA WANTS.

This is nothing more than padding the Democrat Party with future voters.

A sharp spike in illegal immigration has caused facilities and resources along the U.S.-Mexico border to become overwhelmed. As a result, U.S. Border Patrol has been releasing thousands of illegal immigrants onto U.S. soil each week. Some released immigrants are even criminals–as Breitbart Texas previously reported, more than 36,000 convicted criminal illegal aliens were released by U.S. authorities in 2013 alone.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz told Breitbart Texas that this “humanitarian crisis” is a “direct consequence” of the Obama Administration’s actions and rhetoric surrounding illegal immigration.

“We need a president who is willing to uphold the law,” Cruz said. “On issue after issue the Obama Administration has openly ignored, defied, and unilaterally tried to change the law. With respect to securing the border, the Obama Administration has handcuffed the courageous men and women who serve in Border Patrol. Morale in ICE is at an all-time low because the political operatives leading this Administration are preventing them from doing their job and upholding the law.”

He continued, “Just a few months before the last election the president illegally and unconstitutionally granted amnesty to some 800,000 people illegally. If the president wants to change federal immigration laws, the Constitution lays out a way to do so–you go and make your case to Congress and you convince Congress to change the laws…unfortunately for President Obama, following the Constitutional structure is apparently too cumbersome. One of the consequences were seeing on the border is a humanitarian crisis that is a direct consequence of Obama’s lawlessness.”

Cruz argued that by granting amnesty to such large numbers of illegal immigrants, Obama prompted a “change in behavior.” In Cruz’s view, the recent spike in illegal immigration can be attributed to such actions by the Administration.

Earlier this week, Breitbart Texas Managing Director Brandon Darby released leaked photos of children in U.S. processing cells who entered the U.S. illegally and unaccompanied. The photos encapsulated the humanitarian crisis in relation to young, often unaccompanied, border crossers.

Cruz said of the skyrocketing number of children crossers, “When I was down at the border, Border Patrol agents were telling me with horror that roughly 10 percent of apprehended people were unaccompanied minors.”

He continued, “The people who are bringing men, women, and children in illegally are not pleasant, happy, placid coyotes. These are criminal cartels. These are ruthless, brutal, nasty criminals. The idea that you have parents handing their teenage daughter or son over to a global criminal cartel is a humanitarian crisis. Untold numbers of these teens are facing assault, are facing a life of hell being turned over to drug kingpins.”

“It is a direct consequence of the presidents illegal actions,” he said. “The parents think, ‘If I send my child [to the U.S.], my child will have amnesty.’ That’s what the president of the U.S. has said. It is the exact opposite of a humane approach to immigration or to securing our borders.”

Ultimately, Cruz said there are many areas where the left and right can find common ground.

“There is overwhelming bipartisan support outside of Washington that we need to finally secure our borders, enforce our laws, and stop the problem of illegal immigration,” he concluded. “But that’s not going to happen as long as the president is ordering Border Patrol officers not to enforce the law.” (1)

Amidst all the other scandals confronting the Obama administration, there are also two immigration scandals for which the administration is clearly responsible.

Amidst all the other scandals confronting the Obama administration, from concealed VA waiting lists to the release of five Taliban leaders from Guantanamo in exchange for one U.S. deserter, without the legally required notice to Congress, there are also two immigration scandals for which the administration is clearly responsible.

One scandal involves the surge of illegal migrants entering the U.S. without permission across the southern border. That border is so poorly defended that unprecedented numbers of minor children are being apprehended after illegally entering the U.S.

Since October 1, 2013, according to the NY Times, a record 47,017 unaccompanied children have been apprehended at the southwest border, a 90% increase over the previous fiscal year, with at least 60,000 total expected by the end of the current fiscal year on September 30.

According to the Times, “Many say they are coming because they believe that the United States treats migrant children traveling alone and women with their children more leniently than adult illegal immigrants with no children.” The Times confirms based on interviews with immigration officials and lawyers that there has in fact been a shift in U.S. policy.

“If you make it, they take you to a shelter and take care of you and let you have permission to stay,” one migrant reported. “When you appeal your case, if you say you want to study, they support you.”

The Obama administration in 2012 deported one-fifth the number of Central American children as were expelled in 2008, according to the Times. And, “as the number of deportees flown by air to El Salvador from the United States started to drop, the number of people returned by land from Mexico started to rise.”

The Obama administration has publicized its policies of prosecutorial discretion aiming to limit deportations to illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes, its executive order for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) granting immigration relief to illegal entrants under 18, and its support for a general immigration amnesty passed by the U.S. Senate.

So it’s understandable why illegal immigrants are left with the sense that the United States has “opened its doors” to women and children in particular, according to the Times. “As more of those children were released from federal shelter, and the numbers placed with (illegal immigrant) parents or foster care soared, other parents noticed. Those parents were encouraged by the opportunities children were given.”

The other immigration scandal, as reported by CBS News and the Washington Times, is the disclosure that despite its stated policy of prioritizing the deportation of aliens with criminal convictions, the Obama administration has in fact released onto U.S. streets 36,007 deportable aliens with criminal convictions in 2013. Those aliens, with no right to remain in the U.S., included 193 homicide convictions, 426 sexual assault convictions, 303 kidnapping convictions, 1,075 aggravated assault convictions, and 1,160 stolen vehicle convictions.

The administration claims that some of the releases were required because the home countries of criminal aliens refuse to accept their own criminal citizens back. But the Obama administration refuses to apply diplomatic pressure on those countries by stopping the issuance of U.S. visas to their citizens, as previous administrations have done with success. And at least 25% of the convicted murderers who are deportable aliens, appear to have been released by the Obama administration on its own initiative. (2)
