Portland Schools Ban Global Warming Skeptics

Here comes the Left like gangbusters. There is nothing democratic about Democrats, the Party that has been captured by the far Left. They want to muzzle, fine and/or jail those who disagree with them. George Soros is spending millions to Left Wing thugs to disrupt Republican meetings and create violence at Trump rallies. The Constitution is a document to be ignored by the Left. Not only do they want to do away with the second amendment, they want to do away with free speech and the first amendment.

WE TOLD YOU HATE SPEECH LAWS WERE ON THE WAY.

Burning books and forbidding alternative points of view to be discussed are the ways of Nazis and dictators.  Soon it will also be illegal to criticize Sharia Law Muslims or hold the view that marriage is between one man and one woman. Is this what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they created this Republic?

The Federalist Papers report:

Book Burning: U.S. School to Ban Books That Question Climate Change

“Wherever books are burned, human beings are destined to be burned too.” –Heinrich Heine

The night of May 10, 1933 German university students gathered in Berlin to burn books with “un-German” ideas. The students, along with brown-shirted storm troopers, tossed heaps of books into a bonfire while giving the Hitler arm-salute and singing Nazi anthems.

Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels joined the students at the bonfire and gave a speech.

Nazi book burning

“The era of extreme Jewish intellectualism is now at an end… It is to this end that we want to educate you. As a young person,…  …this is the task of this young generation. And thus you do well in this midnight hour to commit to the flames the evil spirit of the past.”

That was 1933, now let’s look to 2016.

Last Tuesday, Portland Public Schools Board unanimously approved a resolution to ban textbooks and other materials that cast doubt on or in any way question the existence of climate change and mankind’s hand in its progression, the Portland Tribune reports.

Today in America’s far left-wing, and sadly our educational system falls into that sect; dissent is simply not allowed. Questioning anything the left holds as dogma is strictly taboo, and few things hold a more sacred dogmatic place than the absolute belief that man’s existence on earth is altering the planet’s climate.

Now an entire school district has voted to eliminate any literature that offers any views other than those they ascribe to. This is education and freedom of thought in today’s liberal school system.

“A lot of the text materials are kind of thick with the language of doubt, and obviously the science says otherwise,” said Bill Bigelow, a former Portland Public Schools teacher who was involved in working to present the resolution, “We don’t want kids in Portland learning material courtesy of the fossil fuel industry.”

One student testified at the Board meeting that she felt it was unacceptable for any books to be in the library that expressed “doubt” that climate change was man-made.

“It is unacceptable that we have textbooks in our schools that spread doubt about the human causes and urgency of the crisis. Climate education is not a niche or a specialization, it is the minimum requirement for my generation to be successful in our changing world.” Gaby Lemieux, Portland high school student.

And thus free thinking is dying in the Portland school system. “Your children will learn what WE want them to believe and nothing but,” is the message just sent to parents.

People are fired if they don’t want men in the women’s bathrooms and fired for saying anything deemed “not nice” about Muslims or gays or transgenders. Shirts depicting the American flag or US Marine Corps symbol are banned because they’re offensive, but shirts with a Mexican (or other nation’s) flag are fine because they’re “inclusive.” And now you cannot find and read a science journal in the library if an article in it casts doubt on man-made climate change.

Portland School Board Bans Literature Denying Climate Change

By Joseph Jankowski

There will be no more discussion as to whether or not humans are contributing to climate change in the Portland, Oregon public school system, as the school board plans to ban all material that denies the existence of man-made climate change.

Although the topic is still being heavily debated within the scientific community, young and impressionable students will now only receive the politically correct side of the issue.

‘Man is causing climate change, no questions asked.’

From the Portland Tribune:

In a move spearheaded by environmentalists, the Portland Public Schools board unanimously approved a resolution aimed at eliminating doubt of climate change and its causes in schools.

“It is unacceptable that we have textbooks in our schools that spread doubt about the human causes and urgency of the crisis,” said Lincoln High School student Gaby Lemieux in board testimony. “Climate education is not a niche or a specialization, it is the minimum requirement for my generation to be successful in our changing world.”

The resolution passed Tuesday evening calls for the school district to get rid of textbooks or other materials that cast doubt on whether climate change is occurring and that the activity of human beings is responsible. The resolution also directs the superintendent and staff to develope an implementation plan for “curriculum and educational opportunities that address climate change and climate justice in all Portland Public Schools.”

During board testimony, Bill Bigelow, a former PPS teacher and current editor of ReThinking Schools, a magazine devoted to education issues, claimed that the science on man-made climate change was settled and that current “text materials are kind of thick with the language of doubt.”

“‘Carbon dioxide emissions from motor vehicles, power plants and other sources, may contribute to global warming,’” Bigelow quoted Physical Science published by Pearson as saying. “This is a section that could be written by the Exxon public relations group and it’s being taught in Portland schools.”

For years, there have been thousands of scientists dissenting against the idea of anthropogenic climate change. So now that this former public school teacher makes the speculative claim that big fossil fuel may be influencing the literature, the school board will cut off all debate.

This is brainwashing.
