It is most often the Liberal-Left who say that Conservatives always have simple solutions to complex problems.
Yet in regards to today’s school shootings, the Democrat-Liberal-Left have a one size fits all, simple solution to a problem that needs to be combatted from many fronts. But all they want to do is ban guns. Yup, that’s going to solve the problem lickity split!
- First of all, stop trying to make this a national problem that only the federal government can solve. It won’t work. The people closest to the problem know who the problem people are and can identify them.
- Insist on local police accountability. In the Parkland shooting, the local police failed miserably not only on the day of the shooting but many times beforehand.
- Make public schools secure. This includes metal detectors, school ID for the kids, cameras, locked entrances, Main door entrance only with an intercom doorbell that has a camera with it and other security measures that may be applicable.
- Arm teachers, custodians, coaches, administrators who have experience with guns, have a license to carry and who volunteer to do so. No requirements here – volunteers. Of course, followup firearm retraining required on a regular basis.
- Set up a whistleblower 800 number where misgivings about any student or local citizen can be reported anonymously.
- Set up a legal system whereby a Judge can pull those with mental problems and disorders off the street and mandate treatment for them
- STOP TRYING TO PUSH A POLITICAL AGENDA THAT DOESN’T SOLVE THE PROBLEM!
